Checking Account Unfrozen for Non-English Speaking Client

Cleveland bankruptcy attorneys with LHA were recently contacted by a non-native English speaking gentleman in his late 20s seeking emergency relief from an aggressive creditor. Our client spoke Vietnamese and very little English and contacted our office by email stating his checking account had been frozen by the bank with over $3,000. Our client’s bank informed him he had three days to prove the aggressive creditor seeking payment did not have rights to the money in his checking account or the bank would release the funds to this creditor. Understanding the urgency of our client’s need our attorneys filed for emergency Chapter 13 bankruptcy within 24 hours of our client contacting us to protect the funds in his checking account.

Our attorneys contacted the bank directly to ensure they understood the protection our client was under now that our attorneys filed (Chapter 13 bankruptcy) on his behalf. The bank immediately released the freeze on our clients checking account and the funds were protected from being given to the aggressive creditor. Our attorneys secured a Vietnamese translator at no cost to our client who attended all follow up meetings to ensure our client’s complete understanding. Ohio bankruptcy attorneys with LHA care about the personal experience of clients and will work to meet their needs throughout the various stages of the bankruptcy process.
